Netgear FVG318 port forwarding

Postby mikesit » Wed Apr 13, 2011 10:43 pm

On the list of routers mine isn't listed. I need to port forward my dvr for remote viewing. Does your application support forwarding setup for my netgear FVG318 router?

#1 Check the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server(s) on your computer.

For example if you are on Windows XP..

a) Go to Start -> Run.

b) Type in cmd and press enter.

c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press enter.

#2 Log-in to the router.

By default this is admin as the the user name and password as the password.

If the screens of your router looks like the screens at http://screenshots.portforward.com/Netg ... /index.htm

#1 In the router go to Monitoring -> Router Status

#2 In the router at that screen, you should see the same IP Address that you saw at portforward.com where it says Your external IP is

#3 If not, then:

a) What is the brand and model of your modem?

b) Is there any device(s) between your modem and your Netgear FVG318 ?

c) If there any device(s) between your modem and your Netgear FVG318 what is/are they?

#4 In the router go to Network Configuration -> LAN Setup

#5 If the DHCP Server is on, what is the Starting and Ending IP Address?

#6 In the router go to Security -> UPnP

#7 If you do not have at least two special computers that support UPnP where you can not define the ports that they use, turn off Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).

A perfect example. At least two game consoles. Any two (Two Xboxes, two Playstations, One Xbox and one Playstation).

But if the screens of your looks like the screens in the user guide / manual at

a) https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http ... hrome=true

b) Non Google Docs View http://kbserver.netgear.com/pdf/fvg318_manual.pdf

#1 In the router go to Router Status

#2 In the router at that screen, you should see the same IP Address that you saw at portforward.com where it says Your external IP is

#3 If not, then:

a) What is the brand and model of your modem?

b) Is there any device(s) between your modem and your Netgear FVG318 ?

c) If there any device(s) between your modem and your Netgear FVG318 what is/are they?

#3 In the router go to LAN Setup

#4 If the DHCP Server is on, what is the Starting and Ending IP Address?

#5 If in there, you see a setting for UPnP.

#6 If you do not have at least two special computers that support UPnP where you can not define the ports that they use, turn off Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).

I also have a netgear FVG318 (at work). Is there any information that I can send to you so that this router could also be supported?

Hey,

If you'd like us to add your router to the website, please check out this page:

http://portforward.com/requests.cgi

We will ask you to take some screen shots of your router, so that we can write a guide for it.

Please let me know if you have any trouble.

Thanks.
