Range Extender for Router

Postby old_forum_geometrix » Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:11 pm

All,
I have a Q-See surveillance system.  I have 8 cameras hooked up to a DVR that records events when the cam's pick up any motion.

I am able to view my cameras over the internet using Port Forward.  Rather than hardwiring an ethernet cable through the attic from my router to my DVR, I want to use a range extender.  My router is a 2Wire brand router and has both wireless and RJ45 connections.

The only problem with my DVR is that the only range extenders that I have seen are completely wireless.  My DVR is NOT wireless.  Therefore, I need a range extender with an RJ45 ethernet connection.

Any ideas???

Thanks,
Neal

While you are waiting for the answer using a Range Extender.

If you had a router that could run DD-WRT, you can install DD-WRT and then follow the info at
