Hello, I followed the guide to port forward the game Borderlands (and yes, I set up a Static IP address on my computer), and when I try the PF Port Checker for each port it states that "We were not able to ping your router." And the second result is "Your port is not open or not reachable." Here are some specifications:
Router: Linksys WRT54G
OS: Windows 7 (my firewall is on, but PF Port Checker is not blocked, and I couldn't find the IP address anywhere in the properties of the rules for the program).
I have a PS3 hooked up by ethernet and a Wii hooked up by wireless (although not fully configured yet).
So I'm not sure why it can't ping my router. I tried pinging the router's default address in cmd.exe and it worked just fine. If the information helps, I am in a dormitory where I am given an IP address, however I was able to configure static-IP just fine and it doesn't involve this given IP address at all.
Thanks in advance, I hope I can get all of this working. I've been experiencing the inability to connect to friend's hosted games and sometimes my friends couldn't connect to my game. And even when we could connect we would experience random lags/crashes.
