How to open, turn off NAT in Thomson TG782T

Postby old_forum_aadit » Tue Apr 06, 2010 7:50 am

Hi I need help in opening NAT in my Thomson TG782T supplied by Bigpond Australia. I called them for help, but they didn't even know what it was.
I have opened the ports turned on Upnp, whatever it is, and made an attempt to have a static ip.
But my PC Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multi player still says NAT strict, and I can't find any one to verse, it seems like no in the world is playing. help ::)

#1 In the TG782T go to Broadband Connection.

#2 One of the IP Address(es) there should be the same IP Address that is athttp://www.whatsmyip.org/

#3 In the TG782T go to Home Network -> Interfaces.

#4 In there, there should be something about LAN OR Local. Go there.

#5 What is the DHCP Range?

#6 In the TG782T go to Toolbox -> Game & Application Sharing -> Configure

#7 If you do not have at least two game consoles behind this router, turn off UPnP in the router.

By game console, a special type of computer with no keyboard or mouse (and it/they are usually connected to a TV).

It doesn't actually say the DHCP Range because, maybe I'm on wireless.

I do have a Playstation 3 and a laptop, desktop, Ipod Touch which all connect to the internet, so I don't think i should turn of Upnp.

Thanks, for trying any more ideas.  :-?

No, that is not why. They most likely, call it something else.

In my router, I can go to Setup -> Basic Setup OR to Status -> Local Network to find out the DHCP range.

This is what the screens of my route looks like

Ok.

#1 In the router change the DHCP range so that it is

LAN_private      10.0.0.139 - 10.0.0.254      10.0.0.138

#2 On the computer that you want to host on setup a Static IP.
http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm

#3 The Static IP:

a) Must Start with 10.0.0.

b) Must be above 0 but below 138.

#3 In the router forward to the computer that you want to host on.

#4 By reading one of your post, the only game console is the Playstation 3.

So, I would suggest turning off UPnP.
